NAAAP Toronto’s mentorship program helped many students and young professionals make decisions on their career paths.
"I had the opportunity to ask many questions about the graphic design field and take a look at the current projects [my mentor’s] company had designed… I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and [NAAAP-Toronto] for arranging this mentorship for students like myself!"
– Anne Wadano, 19
"I have never had anyone help me so much before!"
–Alice Zhang, 47
The wide age range represented by these mentee testimonials from NAAAP-Toronto’s Mentorship Program indicates the wide appeal of our program. Mentorship benefits:
- University students and recent graduates
- Working professionals contemplating a career change or preparing for promotion
- Aspiring entrepreneurs
- Foreign-trained professionals seeking to re-establish themselves in the career for which they were trained before coming to Canada
Alice Zhang is a success story from our Program – as a highly educated and experienced foreign-trained professional, since arriving in Canada in the late 90’s she was unable to find work in the field for which she was trained in China. Through the Mentorship Program, she was able access the guidance she needed to break the cycle of working in unrelated survival jobs, and landed a job in her professional field with a company in Boston.
With the guidance of a mentor, potential outcomes for mentees can include workplace experience, assessment of potential future employment options, entrepreneurship support, and networking opportunities.
What can mentorship do for you? Are you an experienced professional that can make a difference in someone’s life? NAAAP-Toronto is accepting applications for mentees and mentors for intake sessions in Spring and Fall.
